Welcome

Welcome to our new Parish website! We are trying to make it something that will be useful to everyone in Ashtead. Something that really binds our community together. Something that has you talking in the streets, on the way to work, in the pubs and clubs. So please tell us what you think using feedback. We look forward to hearing from you.

Christian Aid Week - 11th to 17th May

header-whatever-you-do

“If we are united we can do many things” says Rekha a young Christian in Kayabunia in Bangladesh. With the help of money raised in Britain during Christian Aid Week last year Rekha is teaching her fellow villagers to look to the sky and themselves for an answer to their struggles to find fresh, clean water for their families.

"If we are united we can do many things"

It is mostly the women who listen as she goes door to door talking to them and helping them to have the courage and expertise to speak up for their needs at the local water council. She trains them to harvest rain water thus providing their families with the supply of clean water they so desperately need.

In Ashtead we were united last year and collected over £10,000 to help women like Rekha; that is almost £100 by each volunteer collector. Christian Aid Week this year is 11 – 17 May. We will be visiting homes again. We hope there will be a generous response so that more women like Rekha can be empowered to empower others in so many places around our world.
