Christian Aid - Climate Change update
In response to a campaign being run by one of our mission partners, Christian Aid, a group from St George’s, St Giles' and St Michael’s churches met with Chris Grayling MP, regarding concerns about Climate change.
The campaign recognises that it is now 10 years since the Climate Change act was passed. Recent scientific evidence indicates that urgent action is required by everyone in order to prevent the potentially disastrous consequences around the world if we do not halt the rising temperatures.
Christian Aid are asking Christians to lobby their MPs and also their banks, suggesting that changes are made to investment practices – investing more in renewable sources of energy - as well as changes in government policy such as subsidies which have an impact on our climate.
